I remember when Missouri’s concealed carry weapon law was about to be voted on, someone told me they hoped it failed to pass because if it did pass they would get a CCW permit and start packing and it would only be a matter of time before they shot someone who pulled out in front of them at El Rancho. As far as I know, that has not happened, but I can understand the man’s feelings. At least once a week someone pulls out in front of me at the Highway 52-U.S. 54 overpass, what all of us old timers still call El Rancho even though the historic resort is long gone. I just say bad things and am pretty sure I won’t shoot some bad driver. I make my share of traffic mistakes, too.
