Board looks at needs and wants with architect
After telling their architectural consultant their wants and desires, tempered with financial reality, members of the Iberia School Board toured areas of the school physical plant and grounds with him during a special meeting last Thursday, May 16.

A bit of Ozarks history was being taken down Tuesday, May 21. The Missouri Department of Conservation fire tower on Highway C near Ulman was taken down with a crane. A fire tower is thought to have been on the site since the 1940s and the one being removed is one of the last in the area as towers at Eugene and Rocky Mount have been gone for some time. Once the domain of fire spotters, the towers have been replaced by airplanes and helicopters. A radio tower remains at the site. The photo was provided by Jim McGowen.
Masonic Seven barbecuing Friday
Iberia Masonic Seven will hold a barbeque Friday May 24, serving from 11 a.m. until the food runs out. Chicken leg quarters or pork steak, potato salad, baked beans and bread will be served at the Iberia Masonic Lodge Hall.

Sunday afternoon, May 19, St. Elizabeth High School graduated 19 seniors. Class valedictorian was Kelly Heckemeyer and salutatorian was Ben Buechter. Fourteen class members qualified for A+ scholarships and the total possible value of all scholarships received by the class exceeded $450,000.

Nineteen Tuscumbia seniors were graduated Friday night, May 17. Valedictorian of the class was Tara Humphreys and Kyla Costigan was salutatorian. Six of the class earned A+ scholarships and altogether, the graduates received $376,730 in scholarships. Veterans benefits workshop May 30 in Jefferson City
U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer will host the inaugural 3rd District veterans' benefits workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the Jefferson City Police Training Room inside the Jefferson City Police Station at 401 Monroe Street.
