Sky show
Area residents were treated to an unannounced military sky show around 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2. According to spokesmen from the Whiteman Air Force Base Public Affairs office, two B-2 bomber pilots were performing a training mission from Kansas City to Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks on typical flight patterns. Normally the contrails are not visible, but due to a cold front moving in from the Rockies, which pushes the humidity downward, conditions were right to make the contrails visible.
