Melisa Thompson and Devon Self, both of Springfield, will be married June 6 on the beach in Sarasota, Fla. Parents of the couple are Kim Thompson, Farmington, and the late Daniel Thompson, and Wally and Ruth Anne Self, Tipton.

SYRACUSE- On Sunday people found various ways to celebrate Mother’s Day, such as by taking mother out, buying her a special gift, sending her flowers or a box of chocolate candy which is many mothers’ favorite. Some spend some time with mother as a family to say “I love you.” Some attend church and worship with mother, which is perhaps the best gift ? having her family sit with her on Mother’s Day. If mother has passed away, a trip to the cemetery may be in order with a spray of flowers, a tear and a thank you for being my mother.



Career exploration
Clarksburg students had Career Day on Monday. Several careers were represented including Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri State Highway Patrol, California Rural Fire District, local farmers, construction workers, truck drivers, and the Missouri National Guard soldiers are pictured talking to the fifth grade class.
