    Doughnut 5K begins!
    There were a total of 91 entries in Saturday's inaugural Eldon Police Officers Association Doughnut 5K run/walk at the public safety building. Besides running the race, participants had to avoid having their doughnut taken by Eldon police officers, who were located at several intersections along the route.     A pair of local golfers competed in the Drive, Chip and Putt competition Saturday, June 24, at Turkey Creek Golf Center in Jefferson City.
    Beach wins at Double X
    Racing action continued at Double X Speedway in California Sunday, June 25, including the winged sprints, 600cc Micro Sprints and the Street Stocks, along with a special Battle of the Badges. The race, featuring law enforcement officers and corrections officers, raised more than $1,600 for the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

    The junior golfers played at Eldon Golf Club Wednesday, June 28. After that, the next tour stop is set for Saturday, July 1, at the Ken Lanning Golf Center in Jefferson City.
    Youth was served at the Eldon Golf Club Championship June 24-25.

    Independence Day 5k run set for July 1
    Early registration deadline for the 19th Annual Independence day 5k run/walk is Friday, June 23.
    Eldon sports physical night
    The Eldon school district will host a summer physical night for athletes from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at the Eldon High School commons.
