Wheatland Lady Mules sweeps competition in Lakeland
Tournament, Hermitage Lady Hornets takes third place
While Skyline and Weaubleau butted heads in the Skyline Tournament last weekend, the Wheatland and Hermitage teams were kept busy competing in the annual Lakeland Tournament. The games began Monday, Jan. 8, and continued through Saturday, Jan. 13. Though the two schools never had a chance to face off personally, they each put up strong fights and made statements in the tournament. The shining stars were the Wheatland Lady Mules who swept the competition in the girls division, beating Lakeland Lady Vikings 74-63, and took the tournament championship title. Not far behind, the Hermitage Lady Hornets knocked out the Leeton Lady Bulldogs 71-59 and took home third place.
