    Moving on
    Braydon Renfro, senior at Tipton High School, signed a letter of intent with Missouri Valley for baseball Wednesday, March 21. He plans to major in sports management so he can stay in the sports atmosphere. Joining him for the signing are, from left, Tara Renfro, mother, John McEachern, Missouri Valley head coach, Renfro, Matt Dwyer, Missouri Valley assistant coach, Kyle Renfro, father, and Tipton High School’s head baseball coach.
    Tipton Lady Cardinal Abby Backes, sophomore and daughter to Greg and Mary Jo, was named to the Missouri All-State team. Backes broke five school records for Tipton High this season while making her 1,000th point as well.
    Earning honors
    Five athletes and a coach have earned honors this basketball season at Tipton High School. Brock Bookout, left, earned all-conference honorable mention, Abby Backes, all-conference first team, coaches all-district first team, all-district most valuable player, Kodie Dick, all-conference and all-district, Brooklynn Pace, first team all-conference and all-district, Alexa Jurgensmeyer, all-conference honorable mention, and Lady Cardinal coach Jason Culpepper all-district coach of the year. The Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Central District met Wednesday, March 14, to select their all-district teams. Pace and Backes both were named first team, followed by Dick who was named second team.
